I expect that we will see at least a few severe thunderstorms in Arkansas from late this morning through about mid evening.

A stalled front in the state suggests that northern and central Arkansas will be the most favored areas.  However, an outflow boundary (cool air that flowed out of previous storms) left over from last night's storms is located in southern Arkansas, so even the southern part of the state could see redevelopment of storms this afternoon.

Damaging winds have a better chance of occurrence than large hail.  The stronger storms will drop 1 to 2 inches of rain in a short amount of time, so if storms repeat over a given area, some flash flood warnings will be necessary (as has been the case already this morning in Clark and Dallas counties).

Storms should diminish in intensity during the evening, but some may linger through the late night hours in the state.

I will issue an update around 3:30 PM this afternoon.
